The message box
The message box is the whole interface. Its placeholder tells you the three command keys:
Ask anything —
/for files and skills,$for bots,@for connectors
The controls
Section titled “The controls”+, on the left. Attach a file from your computer, and reach the tools your administrator has enabled.- The model name, on the right. Which model answers. Most people never change this; see choosing a model.
- The microphone. Dictate instead of typing.
- The arrow. Send.
Entersends,Shift + Enterstarts a new line.
Attachments
Section titled “Attachments”Drag a file onto the message box, paste an image, or use +. The file appears
as a chip above what you are typing, and you can take it off again with its ×
before you send.
Files you attach this way are also kept in Files, so you can
reach them later with / instead of uploading the same document twice.
Choosing a model
Section titled “Choosing a model”The model picker names the model answering you. Your administrator decides which ones appear. As a rule:
- the default is chosen to be the sensible everyday option;
- a faster model is better for short questions and drafting;
- a stronger model is worth the wait for analysis, long documents and anything you will send to a client.
If you are not sure, leave it alone. The difference matters far less than saying what you actually want.
Steering a reply as it arrives
Section titled “Steering a reply as it arrives”You do not have to wait for a reply to finish. Type while it is being written and send — Kuumba takes the correction into account rather than starting over. Use it when you can already see the answer going the wrong way.
