Command keys

Three keys pull your own material into whatever you are typing. Press one at the start of a word and a short menu opens at your cursor. Keep typing to narrow it, use the arrow keys to move, Enter to take one, Esc to dismiss.

You never leave the message box, and what you have already written is kept.

/ — files and skills

Lists the files you have in Files and the skills available to you.

• Picking a file attaches it to the message, exactly as if you had uploaded it. It shows as a chip above the box.
• Picking a skill arms it for this message, so Kuumba follows those instructions for the answer.

$ — your bots

Lists your Kuumba bots, each with its own face so you can recognise it at a glance. Picking one hands the conversation to that bot, which answers with its own instructions from that point on.

@ — connected apps

Lists the apps you have connected, such as Gmail, with the app’s own icon. Picking one adds it as a chip above the message box.

The chip names the app you mean for that message. Send the message and the chip clears.

A chip names, it does not restrict

Naming Gmail tells Kuumba which app you are talking about. It does not lock the answer to Gmail — if another connected app is the better tool for what you asked, Kuumba may still use it.

Worked example

1. Type Draft a reply to — ordinary text, no key yet.

2. Press @ and pick Gmail. A Gmail chip appears above the box.

3. Carry on typing: the message from Tanya about the September invoice, in the tone of .

4. Press / and pick your House style skill.

5. Press Enter.

One message, your mail and your writing rules, and you never left the keyboard.

When a menu will not open

• A key only counts at the start of a word. src/utils and $4,000 are left alone on purpose.
• Esc closes the menu for that word. Delete the key and type it again to bring the menu back.
